SHS ornaments: The making of

On a regular basis during the ornament-making season, we convert a room at Shelby Humane Society into a make-shift photography studio for the afternoon, complete with lights, umbrellas, and various camera lenses.

The dogs come in, one by one, and are placed on a support table. As you can imagine, we see everything … dogs who like toys, dogs who try to get as far away from the squeak toy as possible. Some want to play and others are ready for a big nap. Some come straight in and have to ‘mark their territory’, while others need a little TLC to get in the mood.

We have a lot of fun working with each one of them! And a big paws-up goes our to our photographer, Jeronimo Nisa.
